Before plugging the PICO into the board, program the PIC16F1827 (or PIC16LF1827) with the hex file. The PICs run with a Vcc of 3V3.

If you've already plugged it in, make sure your programmer is set for 3V3 programming voltage to program batterytime.hex into the PIC, otherwise you may damage the PICO.

The Getting Started file explains the process. Read and digest.

The sequence:
Firstly load the operating system. This is done by plugging the pico board into your computer AFTER holding down the small white button on the PICO board. Release the white button.

This enables you to load the PICOmite_firmware by dragging the UF2 file into the PICO's drive which has shown up in Windows Explorer.
The correct file in the archive is chosen to suit your board.
WebmiteRP2040V6.02.01.uf2 (for the version 1 PICO-w)
or
WebmiteRP2350V6.02.01.uf2 (for the version 2 PICO-w)

Both PICO-w and PICO2-w work fine with the appropriate software.

Once you have done this you have a working operating system and you can now access the > prompt using TERA TERM and the correct com port.

Now read the Getting Started document again to setup the wifi etc.
